Privacy policy
Lightdab is made by Vinnie Garcia. The short version: your photos and videos are processed on your iPhone, never uploaded to the developer, and the app collects nothing about you.
Your photos and videos
Everything you see in Lightdab is painted on your iPhone. Photos and videos you take are saved as originals in your Photos library. If you use Apple's iCloud Photos, Apple may sync them to iCloud and your other devices. Lightdab never uploads your photos or videos to the developer.
Saving from the camera needs only permission to add to Photos. Opening the gallery asks for optional read access to Photos so Lightdab can show the photos and videos it created and tracked, not the rest of your library. This local list starts with captures made since the gallery update; older captures are not automatically recovered. Deleting the app clears the list, but does not delete originals saved in Photos.
The app keeps a local copy of your latest capture and retains all unsaved originals until you save or delete them. These remain available even if you decline gallery read access. When you open a photo or video to paint, you still pick it in Apple's photo picker, and Lightdab receives only the item you chose.
Camera and microphone
The camera is used only while Lightdab is open on screen, to show and paint what it sees. The microphone is used only while you record a video, if you allow it; without it, videos record silently. Lightdab never sends camera or microphone recordings to the developer.
No account, no tracking
There's no account and no sign-up. Lightdab has no analytics, no ads, and no tracking, and it doesn't share anything with data brokers or advertisers.
Purchases
Lightdab Pro is bought through Apple's App Store; Apple handles payment, and Lightdab never sees your payment details. The app uses RevenueCat to confirm the purchase and to restore it on your other devices. RevenueCat receives an anonymous ID created when the app is installed and your purchase history for Lightdab, used only to unlock Pro. It isn't linked to your name or email, and it isn't used for tracking. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
This website
This site has no cookies, analytics, or trackers. It's hosted on GitHub Pages, which may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
Children
Lightdab doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
